City Council Meeting

On the agenda is the Library Seismic Evaluation and Facilities Condition Assessment Report, which dovetails with the District’s proposal to demolish Lake Grove, because one proposal involves moving the library to the LGE site. In partnership with concerned First Addition families, LGE community members are encouraged to express support in keeping the library where it’s at – with appropriate upgrades, and expansion of hours at the nearby Adult Community Center to accommodate additional programming – rather than rebuild a larger, frankly unasked for, facility in Lake Grove.

Fight for Lake Grove at the Long Range Facilities Planning Committee Meeting

LOSD Central Office – 2455 Country Club Rd Lake Oswego, OR 97034

The most important meeting prior to the Committee giving recommendations to the district!!

Please show up to send a clear message to the LOSD School Board and LRFP Committee that we are actively engaged. Their proposals include potential closure of the Lake Grove Elementary School and relocating Lake Grove students to Uplands, which the very same district decided to close in 2012 after careful thought and consideration. This is a public meeting and all are welcome to observe deliberations of the committee.

Once the committee has finished presenting their proposals to the LOSD School Board, they will vote on the decision to close Lake Grove, build new administrative offices where LGE stands today and partner with the City to build a community center and library, parking and potentially lease to commercial developers.

Make your voice heard and let LOSD know that Lake Grove is not for sale and should remain the thriving operational neighborhood school that it is!

Please make signs that show support of this issue, show up at 4pm, and make some noise!
